Department: Lancaster County Voter Registration
Compensation: $120/day and $60 for training

Contact : Position Objectives:

To qualify as a poll worker you must be registered to vote or be at least 16. You must also be able to commit to training, working the entire election day, and remaining non-partisan and neutral while working an election.

What you should know:

  • The polls open at 7:00 am and as a poll manager you will be expected to stay until the poll closes at 7:00 pm.
  • In order to work you must taking a training that will prepare you for election day and answer any questions that you may have about what to do and how. The training last around 2 hours. The Voter Registration office schedules training prior to election day. 

What you will be required to do:

  • Arrive at the polls on time 
  • Process Voters
  • Issue ballots to Voters 
  • Answering questions that Voters may have
  • Conducting the election in compliance with South Carolina Election laws
  • Operating voting machines
