COVID-19 UPDATE:

Please be advised that beginning on Monday, June 29, 2020, The Register of Deeds office will return to an appointment system. 4 searchers will be allowed between 9 a.m. -12 p.m. and 4 searchers between 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. Call 803-416-9440 to schedule an appointment.

As always, our office will still be able to assist you with any questions by phone or email from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (see the right side-bar for contact information).

NOTICE: All drop-offs need to include return envelopes (self-addressed and stamped).

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Lancaster County Register of Deeds Office is to provide for the recordation, maintenance, and availability of county records dealing with real and personal property. Our ultimate goal is to provide the best and most efficient services possible to all citizens.

Please arrive by 4:30 for walk-in recording. When E-recording you must submit by 4:00 PM.

*All e-documents submitted after 4 will be recorded the next business day.
