Keep Lancaster County Beautiful is hosting a county-wide, roadside litter cleanup on Saturday, June 4, 2022. KLCB Board members will be located throughout the county assisting volunteers in this effort to reveal Lancaster County’s natural beauty. The following county districts will host a cleanup.

Volunteers will begin at 9:00 a.m. and work for two hours. Bags, grabbers, gloves and safety vests will be supplied. Volunteers can meet at any of the following locations:

District 3 - Camp Creek Baptist Church, 998 Potter Road. Captains: Toni Flynn and Jason Truesdale.
District 4 - Builders Supply Company, 501 South French Street. Captain: Greg Gregory.
District 5 - Corner of Dover and West Shiloh. Captains: Dale Sullivan & Ann Ferguson.
District 6 - Heath Springs Elementary, 158 Solar Road, Heath Springs. Captain: Mark Strickland.
District 7 – Lot across from Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land. Captain: Clare McConaughay.

KLCB Coordinator Mandy Catoe is encouraging the Adopt-A-Highway groups to clean their roads that day so we can make a greater impact. We are hopeful businesses and homeowners will join in and clean their strips of land along the roadways. Together, we can make a huge difference.

“We had 150 volunteers at our last county-wide cleanup in March,” Catoe said. “We picked up 350 bags of trash – nearly 4 tons. It goes to show the power of a collective effort.”

KLCB Board Chair Greg Gregory hopes the community embraces the opportunity and energy from the spring cleanup.

"We want to build on the momentum established in the first cleanup” Gregory said. “If you dislike litter, come out and lend a hand. You'll be rewarded and surprised by the impact you can have in an hour or two."
