(Registration - Usually early January)

Spring Instructional Soccer Program Information (4 year olds)

Registration Fee: $60

Program Description

The Lancaster County Parks & Recreation Department’s Instructional Soccer Program is for boys and girls ages 4 years old and its purpose is to help introduce kids to the game of soccer. Each child will receive a T-shirt and a Size 3 soccer ball. The age cut-off date for this league is Sept. 1st of playing year.

The participants meet one or two times a week for eight weeks. Each week we will have game-like scenarios at each site/area on Saturday afternoons***. Officials will be provided to keep time and play simulated games.

***Please note that this programs times and dates may change due to changes made by our local and state government.***

Picture Day:
• TBA
• All players are recommended to take group pictures on picture day, but do not have to, nor do you have to purchase any group or individual pictures. We use the team pictures to give to our sponsors as a token of appreciation.
• Practice Sessions should begin the week of TBA. You will be contacted about practice sites and times by your coach.

Rules for the Game:
1)      Games will consist of four 5 minute quarters.
2)      If a team scores (in either goal) we will stop play and set up from midfield.
3)      If the ball goes out of bounds, our official will pick the ball up and bring it back in play. You may choose to teach your kids to attempt throw-ins
out you do not have to.
4)      The only time that our officials will stop play is if someone is hurt, if someone picks the ball up with their hands, if someone scores, or if there is a dangerous play happening. Dangerous plays will be judgement calls from our officials. We want to keep our little ones as safe as possible.
5)  Have fun with your kids!!!  If they score in the wrong goal, it is OK. If they pick it up with their hands, just tell them to put it back down and correct them in a calm manner. Do not yell and scream at the kids. No one is going to be drafted after the season is over and I have never seen a scout at one of our games.
